Raccoons


Raccoons are animals that are almost the size of a fox.They also live in trees and on the ground. The live in South America. Raccoons are nocturnal animals. they sleep during day time. But they hunt during night time.
Raccoons have thick white fur. They have a long tail that has black rings around it. They have black markings like masked bandits. They have two front claws that looks like tiny pairs of hands.
Raccoons live in places that are called dens. They live in South Africa. They live in rocky dens that are dark and smelly. They sleep in the trees when it is a warm day.
Raccoons eat frogs, tadpoles, turtles, mice, crayfish, fish, earthworms and grasshoppers. They eat fruit from gardens. They love hunting for food. They also eat yucky old slimy bugs.
Raccoons in towns and cities find food in rubbish dumps and garbage cans.
